The Fire Suppression Training Division is managed by Division
Chief Bill Kinsey. Chief Kinsey oversees all
monthly fire related training and educational activities at Bullhead Fire as
well as supervising the Bullhead Fire Academy and coordinating
fire service classes and degree programs at Mohave Community
College.
A monthly training calendar is published at the first of
each month detailing all scheduled training activities for the
month for each shift and for all the specialty rescue teams such
as haz-mat, rope, dive, and boat ops. In addition, Chief Kinsey coordinates attendance at outside seminars, the
National Fire Academy classes, Mohave Community College
seminars, State Fire training workshops, State Fire training
committee, Arizona Wildlife Academy, and the annual Arizona
State Fire School.
Training and education are top priorities at the Bullhead City
Fire Department. Some type of training activity is
conducted nearly every day of the week.

Bullhead Fire Department is pleased to
announce a new live fire training building. The
structure is located at Station Two and is a state-of-the art
facility. Firefighters will have the opportunity to
train under controlled live fire situations at this facility to
enhance their understanding of the nature of fire. They
will also safely experience what it feels like to work within the extreme heat of a fire and
how to compensate for the lack of visibility and the difficulty breathing as they attempt to move around
under those conditions.
