The Fire Suppression Division is the actual “firefighting” aspect of the Fire Department. This division consists of three (3) shifts – “A” (Red Shift), “B” (Blue Shift), and “C” (Green Shift). Each shift is headed by a Battalion Chief. Our suppression employees work a 48/96 schedule. This division is the most “visible” part of the fire department as the members of this division are in the public’s eye as they respond to fires, automobile accidents, first aid calls, etc.
The threat of fire and its devastating effects on life and property are of major importance and priority for the Bullhead City Fire Department. To address those concerns and to provide rapid, safe, and effective firefighting efforts, the Bullhead City Fire Department operates from five fire stations located at strategic points throughout the community. Bullhead City firefighters respond in a rapid and safe manner with occupant safety and rescue of endangered citizens as our most important mission priority. To accomplish this, firefighters use a variety of tools and technology including thermal imaging cameras, large diameter hose capable of supplying more water at the fire scene, and compressed air foam which delivers water mixed with air to produce a better and more efficient fire extinguishing foam.
