The maintenance and repairs for Bullhead Fire District are
performed by three full time mechanics - support services supervisor Steve Smith and
mechanics Paul Cook and Gary Kolar. All aspects of repairs and maintenance are
performed in house from major to minor repairs, and all
fabrication from building compartments and doors to custom
outfitting apparatus equipment.
When
a new engine, ambulance, or staff vehicle is needed the
supervisor writes the specification. We have an
apparatus committee that reviews the specs and gives input to
these specifications. All aspects from pre-builds to acceptance
are reviewed by the supervisor and a member of the
apparatus committee. This ensures the best quality apparatus for
the best price. All acceptance testing is done in house by the
maintenance division.
