Bullhead Fire Academy 2009
January 10, 2009 - June 27, 2009


 

Applications are available at any MCC Campus, and must be submitted to
Mohave Community College by October 24, 2008
Eligibility is dependent upon successful completion of the following requirements:
a written exam on Nov. 8, the physical ability test orientation on Nov. 20-21, the
physical ability test on Nov. 22, and a background investigation and drug screening.


This will be an eight-credit-hour class offering Firefighter I and Firefighter II
training.  Classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 pm to 10 pm
and from 8 am to 5 pm on Saturdays and some Sundays.  The class will be a mix
of classroom training skills and live fire training at Bullhead City Fire Department.

This course teaches basic firefighter skills and is open to anyone 18 years or older.
A maximum of 30 students will be accepted for this session.  Upon successful completion
and graduation from the academy, the firefighters will also have earned eight credit hours
toward an associate's degree in fire science.
